Description
Looking to come out of Stay-At-Home with a sketch packet? Have you taken a sketch class, but want more practice? Feel like you’re writing the same kinds of sketches and feeling stuck in a rut? Having trouble getting what you find funny on the paper? This class is aimed at students with some sketch experience who want to hone their voice and write sketches that reflect their own sensibilities. Over four weeks, students will learn what makes a sketch great, stretch themselves to write different kinds of sketch, hone their own unique sense of humor, and learn how to effectively and efficiently rewrite their sketches.
Student feedback:
“Matthew gives honest and valuable feedback. He wants to find out what’s funny to you and for you to put that in your sketches… He’s passionate about supporting our voices and for me, that’s invaluable.”
Matthew has written and directed countless sketch shows at the UCB Theater for over a decade in both Los Angeles and New York. His writing has appeared in McSweeney’s, The Onion, College Humor, Honest Trailers, and a bunch of other places, too.
THURSDAYS: JULY 9th- JULY 30th 7pm-9pm
