Dynamic Bodies, Dynamic Stories: An Improv Workshop on Physicality
This session is dedicated to exploring the power of physicality and movement in communication, character development, and making choices in improvisation. Participants will delve into various exercises, games, and introspective activities aimed at understanding the connection between improvisers and their bodies. Explore how our bodies (with our eyes, hands, and legs) tell stories and how our actions narrate tales, all while understanding our limits and expanding our capacities in improv.
Objectives:
Incorporate the power of physicality and movement to communicating and connecting in a scene
Explore different parts of our body and use them as tools (as part of our improviser tool kit) (Communicate, Character, Choice/Offers)
Acknowledge and discover our connection as an Improviser to our bodies
Day/Time: Thursday Oct. 30th 6pm-8pm
Instructor:
Sabrina Manansala is an artist, host, performer, and marketing professional who ignites her creativity through improvisation, dance, music, and spoken word poetry. She has taught improv workshops across Asia—including Taipei, Vietnam, and Singapore—and regularly runs workshops and monthly jams in Manila.
She served as the Production Head for Fringeprov 2025, a 12-hour improv festival in Manila, and conducts applied improv workshops for major enterprises in the Philippines.
Her work is deeply rooted in movement, physicality, emotion, and presence—believing that stories live in every gesture and that improv is a kinetic dance where each moment unfolds with warmth and adventure. She regularly performs with the house team of Third World Improv- Housekeeping Improv, Buwan ng Wika Improv, Noted with Thanks, and Same Bananas, blending art forms and communities through shared play and creativity.
