UPDATED: Using the Ben Axelrad pilot method, you’ll go from idea to full pilot in 9 weeks. If you can send an email and tell a story (hint: you can!) you can write a pilot! Previous students have optioned pilots and been staffed off of samples, including me! I’m not only a teacher, I’m also a student.
I’ve been trying to think of a way to expand accessibility and affordability for the pilot classes, and so I want to try a tiered program.
Staff Writer - Class Only: Attend the class and get access to class recordings. No feedback given.
Executive Producer - Accountability + Selected Feedback: Each week, we’ll take two volunteers and draw two names out of a hat to read their work and give feedback. To guarantee each writer gets feedback on two assignments, spots limited to 10.
Showrunner - Accountability + Full feedback: You’ll get feedback on two assignments from the group, plus every week you can send me your work 24 hours before class or 8 hours after class and I’ll send you back feedback. Spots limited to 4.
Dates/Times: Sundays 1pm-3pm PST (September 7th-November 2nd)
